Spring has sprung, now let’s have fun, I wrote jokes for everyone!

1. Lately I’ve come across a bunch of sour grapes. I guess people just aren’t raisin them right!

2. Question: If a plant is sad, do the other plants photosympathize with it? (Not my joke )

3. When choosing a flower to kiss, always go with the Tulips! Tulips are better than one!

4. Be careful when driving after winter. The trees are releafing themselves!

5. I wanted to re-pot my plants but then realized I hadn’t botany!

6. By poplar demand, the trees are growing back!

7. The whole bunch was raisin awareness on how to achieve grapeness. A few wined!

8. I tried to plant a huge fungus free garden, there wasn’t mushroom!

9. Why was the baby tree put in timeout? Because he was knotty!

10. My friend tried to annoy me with her crazy bird noises. Jokes on her, toucan play at that game!

11. Why did the apples cross the street? Because they wanted to be on the other cider the road!

Pinpricks of a Busy Bee: St. Patrick’s Day & Four-leaf Clover!

St. Patrick’s Day & the Four-Leaf Clover by AJ Roche

The four- leaf clover is a rare variation of clover that grows occasionally on the common three -leaf clover plant. Traditionally this special four- leaf clover is said to bring good luck to their finder, especially when found by chance. Each leaf is believed to represent something different. The first leave from the left is known to represent faith. The second leaf represents hope, the third represents love, and the last leaf represents luck. A five- leaf clover (extremely rare) is said to bring money.

There are approximately 10,000 three-leaf clovers for every 1 four -leaf clover. Clovers can produce more than 4 leaves though. The largest number of leaves ever found on a single Clover stem is 56. This rare 56 leaf clover was discovered in Japan in 2009. Pre Fukushima FYI.

It is known that St. Patrick came to convert the Irish to Christianity in the 5th Century. He used the Shamrock, or three leaf clover, as a way to explain the concept of the Holy Trinity. Before the arrival of the Christians, the plant was sacred to the Irish Druids because the three leaves formed a Triad. It became a symbol of rebellion in the 19th century. It is said that during this time anyone wearing a shamrock risked death by hanging.

The four leaf clover is now associated with St. Patrick’s Day, even though the tradition of the lucky or blessed clover actually began by recognizing the three- leaf clover as “normal” and the four-leaf clover as “special”. No matter how many leaves are on YOUR Clover, I wish you all the best of luck. Love & luck!

Humor is my favorite trait! I love to laugh and make others laugh! Animals are also one of my favorite things. All kinds of animals! Since laughter lifts the heart, brightens moods, changes moments, I have decided to combine theses two things and share them with you, joke style! May your day be blessed with smiles and laughter! A: Toads, they croak every night!

A: Really nice tweetment.

Q: What’s worse than raining cats and dogs?
A: Hailing taxi cabs!

Milking Your Bath Time by A.J. Roché

Cleopatra was well known for her beauty and her flawless complexion. She used the milk of sheep and goats with honey, highly scented essential oils, spices and herbs. When applied topically, cream, yogurt and milk are highly beneficial moisturizers and are suitable for sensitive skin. Alphahydroxy acid, the lactic acid in dairy is an effective natural exfoliator.

Dairy also contains vitamins A and D which are vital for maintaining youthful healthy skin. Below are some recipes for bath milks that you can make at home. You can make up enough for a few baths if you store them somewhere cool and dark for about a week. If you are lactose intolerant, substitute with coconut milk or milk from goats or sheep.
****OMIT JASMINE OIL DURING PREGNANCY!

The Aphrodisiac Milk Bath

*12 tablespoons powdered milk or 1pint organic whole milk
*6 drops essential oil of Jasmine
*4 drops essential oil of patchouli

Place the powdered milk into a large mixing bowl and dilute with double the amount of cool water. Add the liquid gradually and stir continuously to prevent lumps. Drop in the essential oils and pour into the bath as the water is running.

Jasmine Milk Bath

*12 Tablespoons powdered milk or organic whole milk
*2 Tablespoons rose water

*6 drops essential oil of Jasmine
*2 drops essential oil of Neroli
*handfuls of petals: look for rose or orange blossom

Place the powdered milk into a large mixing bowl and dilute with double the amount of cool water. Stir in the rosewater and drop the essential oils into the mixture. Pour the mixture into the bath as it runs. Strew the petals over the surface. Place strainer in the drain when emptying the bath.

Coconut Milk Bath

*1 small can coconut milk
*1/2 lime freshly sliced
*2 drops each essential oil of lemongrass and retivert

As the bath water runs, pour the coconut milk into the water and throw in lime slices. When bath is full, turn off the water and drop the essential oils into the bath. Swish around to disperse!

Milk and Honey Soak

*4 Tablespoons thin honey (local is best if available)
*8 Tablespoons powdered milk
*6 drops essential oil of lavender
*1 tsp avocado oil

In a large mixing bowl, stir the honey into the powdered milk to make a thick paste. Moisten mixture with avocado oil and dilute with a cup of boiling water. Stir well to eliminate lumps. Pour mixture into the water as you run your bath. Love and Light!

Neem oil is considered a vegetable oil that is pressed from the fruits and seeds of the Neem, (known as introduced to other areas of the tropics over time). The color of neem oil can vary from golden yellow, yellowish brown, dark brown, greenish brown or bright red. The odor is quite strong¸combining thescents of peanut and garlic. This oil is not used to cook with because of its distinct odor and tatste. The Indian culture uses neem oil to prepare cosmetics such as hair products, soaps, body hygiene creams and hand creams.

In Ayurvedic, Unani and folklore traditional medicine, neem oil is used to treat skin diseases, fevers, rheumatic disorders, inflammations and is also known as a natural insecticide and insect repellent. When used in the household as a repellent it can deter and rid your home of bedbugs, cockroaches, sand flies, ants, snails, mosquitos and termites, to name a few, as well as rid your home of black spots, rust fungi and powdery mildew. It is not known to be harmful to honey bees, earthworms, butterflies, ladybirds(lady bugs), birds and mammals.

Other uses for Neem Oil

Neem has so many beneficial properties. In this blog I will talk about neem oil and the skin. The most popular neem products are neem soap and neem shampoo. These products are known to lighten scars, soothe and moisturize dry cracked skin, treat and prevent acne, boils, ulcers, head lice, and If your skin issue is due to some kind of parasite, fungus or infection, neem can treat that as well. The Pinpricks of a Busy Bee: The Wild Rose

Wild roses grow on shrubs and cacti that have compound leaves and sharp prickly branches. These sweetly scented flowers bloom white to deep pink in color and have five broad petals. These flowers can easily be found on plains, mountains, foothills and open sunny fields.

After removing the bitter white area at the center of the flower, the petals can be eaten raw. Young shoots, leaves and buds can also be eaten raw or cooked. The fruit of the plant, known as Rose Hips, are packed full of vitamin C. (One tablespoon is the equivalent of five large oranges.) Most hips ripen in early to mid July, but can also be found in the late fall. The fruit of this flower can be eaten raw, cooked, boiled or dried. To get to the rosehip one must remove the mass of hard, hairy seeds that cover the fruit. Only the outer shell of the rosehip is edible.. It is important to know to only eat the outer portion of the fruit.

The seeds of most species are very prickly and may cause internal issues. Wearing gloves when harvesting this fruit is highly recommended to avoid thorns and stickers. Love and light and eating right!

Three of the top ten selling drugs currently being sold in the United States are specifically for indigestion and heartburn. The main reason is that we live in a culture marked by poor diet which casues digestive problems, major health problems and shorter life spans.

Starting with the obvious tips, such as eating smaller meals, chewing thoroughly, reducing stress and avoiding cigarettes, alcohol and deep fried foods. The sugars and carbonation found in soda pops are also linked to diabetes as well as irritable bowel syndrome. In addition to eliminating these foods and beverages, eating organic foods and adding the proper amounts of distilled water to your diet can je lp aid digestive problems.

3 Herbs to Improve Digestion

There are also three herbs one can add to their diet.

The first herb is Peppermint. Peppermint relaxes the intestines, soothes spasms, settles the stomach, elliviates gas and increases healthy gastric secretions.
The second herb is Ginger. Ginger has been shown to soothe the digestive lining and balance gastric juices.
Chamomile is the third herb. Chamomile is gentle and calming on the stomach. Combining the three herbs as a tea and drinking it at meal times will really improve your digestion.

Tortoise have been documented to live well over 160 years. There are also legends of a apecial white tortoise that lived to be over 300 years old. This may be only a legend, but it does not dismiss the fact that the ancient masters so revere this magnificient creature. Tho tortoise knows how to completely regulate its’ breathing. This is the key to the longevity of a tortoise life.

One can experience a heightened state of alertness and connection to the universe through conscious breathing. The pressures of life can seem to wear us down at times. What if I told you that in 45 seconds, we can all obtain a full -body vibration of energy that will literally disolve stress instantly. Stress IS the root of many disorders. Learning breathing techniques, such as the Qi Gong Nine-Breath Method can be beneficial to your health.

The average person breathes 12-15 breaths per minute. A Qi Gong Practitioner can exhale one breath and make that exhale last 3 minutes. When air is processed through the system too fast, there is very little time to absorb the oxygen from the air. A tortoise takes a breath once every 2 minutes, allowing ample time for maximum oxygen absorbtion. Oxygen fights cancers and bacterial growths.

Slowing down your breathing will lessen stress and build up your immune system. Draw a deep breath into your nose for a count of at least 10 and then hold the breath in for at least another 10 count. Exhale through pusred lips for a count of at least 15. Repeat this process 8 more times, and as you begin to breathe properly over time, you can extend the length of your breathing and see ample results in your health. Love and light and breathing right!

Clean your home w/o polluting your body Most products that are used to clean your home can compromise your health. Bleach and other chemicals that are found in common household cleaners can be extremely harmful, especially when inhaled. They are also extremely bad for the environment.

In the last decade or so many companies have created products that can be just as effective as regular household cleansers, and are safe for you and the environment. You can even make your own cleaning product at home.

Diluted vinegar is an effective cleanser for toilets, mirrors,carpets, windows as well as kitchen and bath tiles. Vinegar also inhibits mildew and bacteria. Mix one cup of distilled white vinegar to one cup of water. It is that simple! Now you can use the vinegar and water solution to clean as you would with any other cleaner. Scrubbing with baking soda instead of a chlorinated powder is best when you need to scour.
