Chris Brennan

Chris is a native New Mexican. He’s a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Peace Studies program, and a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer. In the Peace Corps he volunteered as an Educator and spent much of his service on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua giving workshops and performing cultural exchange events through music.

Chris is a talented singer and songwriter who is the Lead Singer for the Reggae-Rock band Reviva. He gets his inspiration from revolutionary musicians like Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, and Bob Dylan.  He is fluent in Spanish and Creole, and has years of experience in teaching guitar, organizing workshops and performances, and songwriting. He recruited Jerel Garcia and Buddha Benavidez to join him on stage for what would become the beginning of Reviva.

Serving the Community

He also serves as a member of the Senior Management Team for a local non-profit and is on the Board of Directors for a high school in Albuquerque aimed at providing at-risk youth with a second opportunity to pursue their education.  He has a deep passion for serving the underserved and using music to inspire people to make positive change for themselves and their community.

Chris wrote a grant proposal and received a Fulbright scholarship for Reviva to go to Nicaragua.  This was for an exchange of music and culture, and the band members played several concerts.  They also gave music lessons to the youth and donated instruments.
