Students at New Mexico School for the Arts (NMSA) worked with: Poet Laureate Emeritus, Hakim Bellamy, local poet and educator Carlos Contreras, local poet Mercedez Holtry, and local business owner and producer Colin Hazelbaker, on a two-month intensive, writing and performance poetry project.

Students were asked to be honest with themselves while putting their lives, emotions, and thoughts on paper. The project yielded dozens of creations, by the dozen participants. The product is, audio and video archives which will be available soon, and this collection of poems by the participants, for their and the community’s consumption.
